2006
April- 2nd speaker night in conjunction with MedSoc.Dr Streatfeild, Director of Anaesthetics at the Mater Hosp, spoke about his experiences working in Ethiopia, Timor and India

Oct- Movie/ Birthing Kit Assembly Night. In conjunction with MedSoc, over 70 volunteers assembled 800 Zonta Birthing Kits, which were promtly sent to Vietnam. These birthing kits aim to decrease the risk of death from infection and bleeding for both mother and child, by providing necessities for clean birth

2005

August- Wake Up! is established after our 1st Annual General Meeting(AGM), following the inagural AMSA Developing World Health Conference(Sydney)

- All across Australia, medical schools established Developing World Health Groups linked by the International Health Network

September- 1st speaker night. Guest speaker from Medicins San Frontieres, who spoke of her experience s with Medicins San Frontieres to a packed lecture theatre at John Hunter Hospital

- Launched 1st aid project by former Vice-President, Alp Atik. We provided our HES(Health Equity Selective) students with supplies and pharmaceuticals to take to their electives. Maitland Hospital and Hospital Suppliers of Australia have been our primary benefactors thus far. Our supplies have since reached all corners of the globe, through students travelling during their elective period. Destinations include Africa, Europe and Australasia.
