On 18 October 2006, Wake Up! successfully assembled over 800 birthing kits with the help of 70 volunteers. This event, which was held in conjunction with MedSoc, was a hit with volunteers packing Zonta birthing kits whilst listening to our home-grown Newcastle Med year 2(2006) band. Refreshments were served afterward. Constant Gardener was screened once the birthing kits were packed and ready to be shipped to Vietnam, while mothers giving birth will greatly benefit from this simple yet life-changing supplies.
